Japanese encephalitis

Target group:
Children over 2 months of age and adults traveling at certain times to areas in Southeast Asia and the rest of Asia where Japanese encephalitis occurs.
Vaccination dose:
Vaccination is given twice before departure, 4 weeks apart. Primary vaccination must be completed at least one week before potential exposure to Japanese Encephalitis virus.
Protection duration:
The duration of protection after basic vaccination is 12-24 months. After this first booster, the duration of protection is 10 years.
