Target group:
Travelers of all ages to countries where there is a high risk of rabies virus infection through contact with local animals.

People whose work involves a particularly high risk of infection, e.g. veterinarians and biologists with close contact with animals that may be infected with rabies, including bats

The vaccine is used both preventively and when suspected of possible rabies infection.

Vaccination dose:
Before exposure to possible rabies infection: Two vaccinations are given on day 0 and day 7. Immunosuppressed individuals should receive three vaccinations on day 0, day 7 and between day 21 and day 28.

Protection duration:
After basic vaccination with two doses, revaccination is only recommended for people at risk of occupational exposure to rabies. These individuals are revaccinated after antibody measurement to ensure continuous protection.
